EMX plans to build a US factory for compressed furniture: sofas, mattresses and other upholstered pieces that are compressed and boxed at the factory, then expand to full size in the customer’s home. A compressed sofa ships in a box a fraction of its normal size, so freight, warehousing and final-mile delivery cost far less, and it can be sold online and shipped by parcel carriers instead of freight trucks.
Making it in the USA means no import tariff on the finished product, short delivery times to American customers, and a supply that is not exposed to ocean freight or trade disputes. The project location and details are shared only with qualified partners.
